Current Election News - Qualifying

 

The qualifying period for the 2017 Fall Special Election to be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 will begin Wednesday, July 12 through Friday, July 14. Hours for qualifying are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Persons interested in qualifying for the below offices shall qualify at the Clerk of Court’s office in Amite, LA:

Qualifying fees for a recognized party affiliation: Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, and Reform

If candidate is not a member of a recognized party he/she only pays the amount in qualifying fee column.

The qualifying fee shall be paid in cash or by certified or cashier’s check on a state or national bank or credit union, United States postal money order, or a money order issued by a state or national bank or credit union.
